![]() ![]() I still wouldn’t put Kalameet much higher than he is because I think some of his attacks are very hard to see coming and dodge, mainly because of how big Kalameet is compared to the player which is an issue Kalameet would share with Midir. I also love the calamity mechanic where the debuff doesn’t immediately make the fight impossible (like the toxic in Royal Rat Authority) but it will still induce panic and stress and force you to become much more focused. And Kalameet stays on the ground for majority of the fight unlike Sinh, Guardian Dragon, and Ancient Dragon from DS2. Also not controller-breakingly difficult like Midir. Not tedious and boring like the Wyvern in DS3 or the dragon god in DeS. What I consider the best dragon fight in the series. I’ve had runs where if Raime had hit one more swipe in his combo he would’ve killed me, but then he just stops attacking and lets me get away. The only thing that I can really think of that takes away from this fight is sometimes Raime’s combo variation can make his AI seem very stupid. An incredible last boss for an incredible DLC. He’s good at keeping me on my toes and gets my heart racing every time I renter his arena. Personal favorite from DS2 simply because of how aggressive Raime is. I don’t often have an issue with it, but when I do it’s always at a crucial moment in the fight. Only thing I can think of that can detract from the fight is the grab hit box. Also love the armor he wears and overall visual design. Alonne has one of, if not the coolest arenas in DS2. One if my top 10 because I enjoy the trading blows aspect of the fight. (Note - have not played bloodborne DLC yet nor have I finished Sekiro) Honorable mentions: twin princes, nameless king, sister Friede, the penetrator, corrupted monk, genichiro, guardian ape, divine dragon, and fume knight. ![]() True king Allant (yes the blob at the site of the old one): really love how tonally resonant his nihilism was with respect to the rest of the world of demons souls. Sir alonne: only great thing about DS2 (that was unfortunately mired by the incessant piling of the preemptive ads the developers deemed necessary to include on each corpse run) Gherman: same line of reasoning as isshin but to a lesser degree. Orphan of Kos: like Tomoe from sekiro and Ludwig from Bloodborne, kos was just an uncorroborated legend to us players in the base game, so having the opportunity to not only substantiate its existence with our own eyes, but face him on behalf of our cursed ancestry (the hunters, that is) was truly memorable Gael: climatic boss of the souls series, serving as a perfect farewell and concomitant welcoming to all of the new journeys FROM has in store with us. Ludwig: inimitable characterization through his presentation in both phases, as well as impeccable gameplay design Also, he was a character that sekiro shared mutual respect for there was no malice between the two, just recognition of their diametrically opposed objectives. Isshin: perfect amalgamation of everything learned up to that point and the pinnacle of action game design. ![]()
